It was on August 13 when Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced the start of the Wellness Tianguis, in which they will be donated to the poorest families in the states of Warrior, Oaxaca, Chiapas Y Veracruz, items seized at customs, such as clothing, footwear and toys.
Currently, they have been benefited 85 thousand families to whom 3 million 571 thousand 328 new items were delivered, free of charge confiscated or seized.
The beneficiaries are people who reside in the 21 municipalities poorer of Guerrero and Veracruz, among the goods they received are fabrics, toys, clothing, footwear, household tools and utensils, in accordance with information from the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC).
Likewise, the products are stored in 69 warehouses of the Tax Administration System (SAT) and the Institute to Give Back to the People the Stolen (Indep), whose annual income amounts to one thousand 147 million 619 thousand 573 pesos and they are located in different states of the Republic and occupy approximately 372 thousand square meter.
It is expected that the Tianguis del Bienestar will reach more than 70 municipalities of Guerrero, Oaxaca, Chiapas and Veracruz, the goal is to benefit more than 894 thousand people and 223 thousand families.
It was thanks to the human development indices of the UN and extreme poverty of the National Council for the Evaluation of Social Development Policy (Coneval) that it was possible to identify the populations that would be taken into account.
To deliver the products, they are installed tents and tables to place the new items, which are divided by categories while the rapprochement with the population is encouraged.
To control the delivery of products, at each table there is a person in charge of generating the registration cards and thus guaranteeing the transparency.
The new program that aims to deliver for free items that have been confiscated or forfeited in the customs to the population in extreme poverty.
The president pointed out that the new project consists of cleaning the cellars, where it was customary to destroy the seized merchandise, and reduce the expense that these represent to the public Treasury for leasing.
“This way of acting was given in the government, of carrying out seizures in customs and storing, there are many wineries and rent is paid and things are spoiled, many goods are stolen. There is an agreement with some companies, shops, to burn the clothing that was confiscated so as not to generate unfair competition. We have made the decision to deliver all those goods to the people, all those merchandise. We are going to clean all the warehouses and it is going to be handed over to the people, to the poor and we already started ”, he explained.

The Tianguis del Bienestar, informed the president, consists of making available to the inhabitants of municipalities in marginalized conditions the merchandise seized in customs, such as fabrics, clothing, footwear, toys, utensils and household tools.
