Oaxaca de Juárez.- The Oaxaca General Prosecutor’s Office (FGEO) confirmed the location alive of Cecilia Mingüer Vargas, who was the last director of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Oaxaca (MACO).
The foregoing, after the FGEO’s Unlocated Persons Search Unit issued a search form for the non-location of Cecilia, who was seen for the last time by her relatives on December 25 last.
It was the family of Minguër Vargas The one that was presented to the authorities to denounce her non-location and provide data to find her whereabouts, this Tuesday morning and in the afternoon, they confirmed that she was located and in perfect health.
So far, relatives have only reported that she was in an area of the state where there is no mobile signal, so they could not communicate with her.
Before the location of Mingüer Vargas, the Human Rights Ombudsman of the People of Oaxaca (DDHPO), officially initiated the file DDHPO / CA / 0513 / (01) / OAX / 2021.
Cecilia Mingüer leads the fight of at least a dozen museum employees, who since the first half of April 2020 have not received payment of their salaries, since the Friends of the MACO, headed by Rubén Leyva, does not grant the appeal.
In the legal process and after the violent eviction suffered by the workers in April 2020, they assert that they have received threats, discrimination and harassment; These include the deprivation of liberty of those who served as guards in the museum.
Due to these facts, the workers presented before the FGEO three complaints.
“That the workers questioned their payments, the president did not like it and from there the disagreement arose. We continued waiting for the state government to absorb the expenses, but they never told us that we were not going to be paid, ”Mingüer explained last August.
