Germany becomes the fifth European country to exceed 100,000 deaths from Covid-19. Follow the map in real time

Germany is the last country in overcome the 100 thousand barrier deaths from Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic, according to official data presented this Thursday. The German nation is the fifth on the European continent to exceed this figure as well as Russia, Britain, Italy and France.

In the last 24 hours there were 351 more deaths related to the coronavirus, which bring the national total to 100,119, explained the German disease control agency.

Other nations of the world that have exceeded the 100,000 dead barrier are USA, India, Brazil, Iran, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, among others.

The Robert Koch Institute, the federal agency that collects data from about 400 regional health departments, also reported a daily record of contagion by Covid-19 with 75 thousand 961 new infected in the last 24 hours. Since the beginning of the pandemic, Germany has accumulated 5.57 million infections.

The upturn in cases led what will be the next German government to announce yesterday the creation of a permanent group of experts who will advise the authorities on how to combat the pandemic.
