Xbox launches an interactive virtual museum for the 20th anniversary and you can visit it for free

We can explore the different Microsoft consoles and go through the history of the brand from our browser.

2021 is a year of celebration for Xbox. The original console turns 20, and several surprises have been prepared for its anniversary. We already know some of them, such as the premiere of a company documentary, which will take us by the hand along Microsoft’s path in the sector, but there is still more to discover.

The highlight of this week is undoubtedly the new interactive virtual museum for the 20th anniversary of Xbox. Through a web page, we can visit the entire history of the brand, going through the different consoles published so far (Xbox, 360, One and Series X | S), a gallery dedicated to Halo and another where we will access our personal museum.

In the museum we drive to an avatar and we are allowed to move freely around the stage using the keyboard. We can meet other characters who are visiting the virtual space at the same time as us, taking a look at the works as if it were an art gallery.

The web is from Free access for everyone, although a login is required for some features. It can be visited from the browser itself, and it is translated into several languages, including Spanish, for a more precise journey in order to discover the ins and outs of Xbox.

It is not the only surprise that the 20th anniversary of Xbox has brought us. Recall that, during the event celebrating it, the multiplayer of Halo Infinite was released by surprise, in addition to announcing an improvement in the backward compatibility of the consoles, with more than 70 new backward compatible games from the first Xbox and Xbox 360.
